Welcome to our Gait Certification Program

It is amazing that in the United States alone there are reportedly over 200,000 physical rehabilitation therapists and over 20 million people with gait disabilities, and until now there has been no comprehensive education and certification available. Breaking new ground, the Mission Gait Academy is proud to introduce our new Gait Rehabilitation Specialist (GRS) Certification Program. This initiative marks a historic step towards fulfilling our vision and addressing the gap in advanced education for Physical Therapists, PTA’s, Prosthetists, Orthotists, and Doctors everywhere – to empower them to better serve people suffering with gait dysfunction.

Our three levels of education:

Level I: Gait Foundational CEU, 15 contact hours – Gait Rehabilitation – Core Concepts and Treatment Strategies (Virtual and In-Person options)

Level II: Launched May 2024! Gait Rehabilitation Specialists (GRS) Certification Program – (Five Self Study Modules)

Level III: Coming Soon! Advanced Gait Certification Course (In-Person, Hands-on Training & Review)
After completing Levels 1 and 2 you will be entered into our Network of Providers as a Certified Gait Rehabilitation Specialists!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do the logistics come together for these courses?

Our online courses are hosted on a platform called CoreAchieve. That is where you register, pay for, and complete this engaging and interactive course with a live zoom component.

  • Are you approved for continuing education credit in my state in the US?

We have approval for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to claim CEU credit in all states EXCEPT:
Level 1: IL, KS, LA, NV
Level 2: IL, KS, LA, NV, OH

If your state does not have approval and you’re interested in taking a course, please contact us at admin@missiongait.org and we will provide you with the necessary paperwork to apply for individual approval from your state board.

Our Level 1 Course is approved by the ABCOP for CEU credit for all prosthetic and orthotic professionals, and the Certificate in Prosthetic Gait is approved by the ABCOP for CEU credit for certified prosthetists.

  • Do I have to be a physical therapist to take your courses?

No, our Level I course – Gait Rehabilitation – Core Concepts and Treatment Strategies, while designed by physical therapists, can be taken by any movement professional involved in gait rehabilitation. Previous attendees have included prosthetists and biomechanists, specialized personal trainers, as well as PTs and PTAs.

Our Level II – Gait Rehabilitation Specialist (GRS) Certification, is for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, and the Certificate in Prosthetic Gait Rehabilitation (modules 1 and 5 of the GRS Certification program) is also open to certified prosthetists.
