Mission Gait Academy
Host A Course At Your Place!
We have dates available for 2024 & 2025.
MISSION

To empower the physical rehabilitation community, through education and research, to help patients with complex gait disabilities learn to move again with confidence.

The following information is to act as “suggestions” for your event. We realize every course will have its unique circumstances, and we are ready to meet your needs in any way we can.

HOST A COURSE

Unlock a new level of proficiency in gait rehabilitation for your community by hosting Mission Gait Foundation’s (MGF) acclaimed Level I gait rehabilitation course. This 15-hour CEU course is designed to provide clinicians with an advanced, in-depth framework of gait theory, rehabilitation principles, and analysis to effectively treat gait dysfunction.

Hosting a course sets your organization apart from competitors by not only establishing providers within the organization as experts in gait rehabilitation, but also displaying your dedication to elevating standards of care within your community. Elevate your organization and community’s commitment to excellence in gait rehabilitation – inquire about hosting our course today.

Hosting organizations provide a location for the course, including:
  • Minimum 15 seats
  • Adequate parking
  • Wi-Fi
  • Projector & screen
  • Lab equipment (Plinth table or exam table (multiple preferred), Stairs, Parallel Bars if possible, Walking space, Balls for exercises, Foam rollers / Bolsters)
The hosting organization chooses two factors:
  • Private or Public Course
  • For a private course, the hosting organization incurs a course administration fee of $5000, covers the travel and lodging expenses for up to three MGF staff members, and covers the cost of the course manual. The course manual can be purchased from MGF, or can be provided electronically for the host organization to print. This arrangement enables the host organization to include unlimited employees or guests. This option is particularly advantageous for clinics, universities, or healthcare systems seeking to offer a valuable continuing education benefit to their staff and/or students.
  • For a public course, the hosting organization pays no fees, and receives 1 seat free for hosting and a free seat for every 5 registrants – after the first 20 (limit of 5 seats). All other course participants register with Mission Gait Foundation and pay the course fee to MGF. MGF will provide digital and email marketing for the course event, and will provide you with a brochure to distribute to your contacts.
  • Two-day In Person or Hybrid Online/in person
  • The two day version is 100% in person, from 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday
  • The hybrid online/in-person version involves 6 hours of online asynchronous coursework, to be completed before the day of the event – and a one-day Saturday in-person event from 8am to 6pm.

EVENT SCHEDULE

Day 1 and Day 2:

  • Meet – 7:30 am
  • Start – 8:00 am
  • Break – 10:15 am
  • Lunch – 12:00 pm
  • Break – 2:30 pm
  • End – 5:00 pm
Note: As you know, PTs don’t want to sit in a chair for 2 days and be lectured to, so we offer breakout labs throughout the course. If the course is in a rehab gym, we will use the mat table/plinths, but if not, we therapists are adaptable and can do the exercise labs on the floor. It is nice to have a small set of (7’) folding bars, but we can talk to your local prosthetists about bringing those in for the weekend. If unavailable, again, we can adapt as needed.

We will help you look for course sponsors.

Our sponsorships allow MGF to keep the course at low to no charge.

  • The sponsor presents a 1-hour review of options and technology geared towards physical therapists.
  • This provides physical therapists opportunities to interact with a prosthetic/orthotic professional during the 2-day course and interact with available technology.
  • Allows permission for publication of sponsorship of the course in course advertisements and materials.

We would love to bring the course to your place. If you are interested in this opportunity, let us know your preferred month as soon as possible, and then we can work out a convenient week and get something set up. We look forward to hearing from you.
