Holden Russell, MA
Director of Mission Advancement

Holden Russell serves as the Director of Mission Advancement, and in this role oversees strategic fundraising, cross-sector partnerships, communications, and program development to support the Foundation’s Three-Pillar Model: Mission Gait Academy, Patient Reintegration, and Walking Free.

Combining his background in wellness leadership, videography, and nonprofit operations, Holden leads initiatives that expand the Foundation’s impact both locally and globally. He manages engagement, grant writing, multimedia storytelling, and event support to drive sustainable growth and increase access to high-quality gait rehabilitation resources. He is passionate about developing and sustaining long-term partnerships, and stewardship with individuals interested in involvement with the mission.

Holden attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications, and later received a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. He also served seven years in the Virginia Army National Guard, five years as a 94M Radar repairer, and three years as a Public Affairs Specialist, during which he published multiple articles highlighting military service and community impact. Certifications include: Grant Writing, Level 1 Triathlon Coach, Personal Training, and Group Exercise.

He spends his free time coaching and training for triathlons, leading group exercise classes, supporting local triathlon clubs and services, and being outdoors as much as possible with family and friends.
